it kind of defeats the purpose of the mod class if the batteries are limited as well .i feel that the limitations should only be chassis (tt01) ,motor tamiya sport tuned and stock esc the rest we can go balls to the wall or we can then rather race clubstock. Exclamation

well if we are going to use the stock esc then we limiting the motors anyway.. probably wont handle more than a sport tuned under race conditions. The point of the TT01 MOD is to make the cars a little faster and challenging for the drivers but keep the close racing as we have in TT-01 Stock by keeping the costs down.

You hit it right on the button there jay. Those who don't want to conform to the "cheap" limitations set can go race in club stock then.

i agree, why not just race club stock, no offence but if you haven't won tamiya then why try and race something faster, if you are running in the top 3 in tamiya your car should be pretty fast, then move up to club stock, like i did, why try and make a whole new class if you havnt reached the full potential in tamiya? i know there are a few guys like jay who want to first get fast in tamiya, but then move to club stock if you seeking more of a challenge, i would even go so far as to race a tt01 in 12t mod class Twisted Evil

dont be scared of the guys with their pro chassis in club stock, at the end of the day it comes down to the driver, i placed 2nd in the last club stock race, proving a tt01 can perform with the big guns Cool

Sam, how does this differ from the class you wanted to start in the beginning. Cant we sort of combine all the good from both these and get it off the ground? We will value your input since you originally started this with Shameless.

ya thats what I ultimately want to do.. is to keep with the TT-01 and challenge the supposably better handling chassis Very Happy (just like I do with my real car at the scribante track days) It must be very satisfying but by baby steps Very Happy working my way up the ranks.

Good from both what???? There is currently a tt stock class and an open stock class. This will essentially be a class in the middle of the 2, but with higher limitations than the tt's and lower limitations than the open stocks. Also keeping it "CHEAP", which is the key factor, and also making it a level compition, the same as the tt's are. Also bearing in mind, most of the guys running tt's and stepped up to other chassis already have whats needed to run this class, so there is no extra expenses incured, once again keeping it "cheap as chips".

So here's my ruling on the matter.

It will be a regulated class, so that all running in it with have a fair chance of winning.
The specs will be: TT01 chassis, hopups allowed(except cf chassis plate), sport tuned motor, teu101bk speed controller, 3700mah sub c's, 55/25 gearing, any tyres, 2/4 door tamiya bodies.

It doesn't get simpler than that. The above will be discussed on Sunday at drivers briefing and a decission made for the following race day.

I think the guys must simply forget about the faster motors and just hop into the clubstock class with their tt's. If they don't like it they can just change the gearing again and join the tt01 class again with no real harm done. Both the classes have some real talent and it is nice to see guys wanting to move up. I just don't think guys must move up for the wrong reasons. We don't want to loose any members so my advice to all is, don't be in a hurry to move up if you are enjoying where you are racing now. THere is not musch left of the first season so hang around till June and make the move then. New season = new class.

Another aspect to look at,with another class been formed, will there be enough time at racedays to run another class, the day will become longer.

good words Ray - time is in abundance, i dont think anyone should be in a rush to move up, besides if you want to move up get cars like Ray and myself with the 12 turn and a carbon chassis Smile very fast and very hard to drive indeed Suspect
