Ray i second that... Suspect
You need to decide if you going to do a local event in which case makes life a lot easier and gets us ready for a big comp with EL towards the end of the year or what?

schumis mite be old news and parts mite be expensive ,but at the end its a personal choice what you want to race with and at least 55% is all about the driver not just the equipment .Lets take George in tto1 as an example..... the boy has skills! so do us a fava lay off before you catch a cold Razz

I don't think there is a bad chassis out there today, some old, some new. Some are easier to work on, some's spares are more freely available and some break easier than others but they are all good. To add to the breaking I have to add that some manufacturers design parts to flex for different handling characteristics and that makes the car "softer" with a purpose. Some prefer Serpent, some prefer Schumacher, Tamiya and X-ray in no particular order.
The car with the most expensive parts is probably the Schumacher but the problem is solved by those trading trackside illegally with secondhand spares and cars. The fact that the parts are expensive is purely because they are paid for in pounds. THe Serpent have a spares issue which will hopefully be resolved sooner rather than later which leaves us with 2 alternatives. X-Ray and Tamiya. THere are other very good cars too, Associated TC5F, Hotbodies Cyclone TC as well as the Robotronic Avid. We would not know how good they are since we don't have any at our track. tHey too perform very well at national level and lets not forget the Top Racing Photon that flexed it muscle at the Reedy race of champs.
This can go on forever but I think I said this as diplomatic as I can and purely because the local market is flooded by grey imported spares my Schumacher will be for sale after the 9th of August. I have a shop and rent to pay and for that reason will not be supporting the brand.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to pm me. Illegal trackside trading can also be reported to myself, Thinus or Sam.

good points Ray, all noted Smile

While in JHB i looked at the chassis available and i still think that the TRF416 is going to be the way to go the chassis looks awesome and i am sure it performs like a dream? i am however not an expert on racing chassis but as a drifter i think that is would be one of the ultimate chassis to use Smile yes please ill have one of the world editions in my christmas barsket Suspect

Trf416WE is out the box an excellent drift chassis ask anyone that was at the drift session on 02 July 09 even myself with no drifting experience looked like a pro. The current drift boss king Mr Fusion was as impressed, and everybody else there, even those who aren't allowed by law to agree Cool

And on the racing scene it is almost bulletproof again with a rookie it is doing very well, but here I would say that the T2 will prove to be the better, stronger and faster chassis around, believe me I am just as excited and maybe a little jealous if Fusion eventually pulls this one off.

As very clearly pointed out by our bossman farao baas Ray this purely a personal opinion based on the results of all the international results I found so far and awrds won by certain manufacturers. Twisted Evil

I would like to add that I am not in anyway insulting or badmouthing any other cars Rolling Eyes
