The 2010 IFMAR 1:10 Electric Touring Car World championship will permit the use of LiPo batteries after agreement was reached at the IFMAR AGM between EFRA, who proposed the rule, and ROAR, who already permit the new generation power in their National Championship.
Stumbled across this.

We received the terrible news out of Italy that fire has ripped through the GRP Gandini factory in Guidizzolo, Italy last night. Thick, and i’m sure toxic, smoke fueled by plastic in the building filled the air around the blaze. Needless to say this is a massive set back for the manufacturer and their employees, but thankfully it seems no one was hurt and the Gandini brothers will hopefully rebuild. We will keep you informed of any updates.

Came across this info about the silver can motors. Ray, you going to have to watch which ones you buy in as there are differences which are illegal.

The RS-540SH series is the one typically used in RC car kits and this comes in 3 versions, the 5045, 8023 and the 6527. Where the first 2 digits describe the wire diameter: 50 = .50mm etc and the last 2 digits the number or turns: 27 = 27T etc.

You will need to look at the motor label/number to know which you have, the RS-540SH-6527 being ...
