Race Results

Post  Columbo on Tue Aug 18, 2009 9:10 pm

Whilst I understand that we all have a primary function that brings in disposable income, I think we owe our members the results of the raceday as soon as possible after the official raceday. This will allow the ardent hobbiests to try and improve their individual performance. If we need assistance in achieving this objective, and it requires more people, the please accept the offer from the individuals, or appoint a member that is responsible for postng the results.

Thanks Columbo. I think we must discuss this with Sam, he might have his plate full with the club growing this quick. It was also done just for interest sake and I for one did not realise people use this too measure their performance. We had 3 new members join this week alone!
Ototw offered many moons ago so maybe we must press his button. Sam normally does this so lets see how he feels about it.

Thanks Raymond for your understanding - I think that Sam needs assistance because of various factors, and I think that certain functions MUST be assigned to offers from responsible members to lesson the burdon!

i think both ray and dion have their plates full, so i think we need to have some patience with the results, as for assigning people certain functions, look what happened in uitenhage. i think that will come in time, but the longer the time the better for the club. you gotta be really carefully assigning people responsibilities and relying on them.

Fusion hit it right on the head there, if you guys are that eager, both this past race day and the previous race day figures are in the container if you want to go grab them, I no longer use the printouts from race day but get the results from ray during the week off his race day lap top. Another thing just so you guys get an idea, to post the results in the detail that I do takes at least 2hrs of uninterupted time, this I do at work as i don't have internet at home, so it is not always easy. Ray went to nats the previous week so I couldn't get the results from him and when he got back we had to deal with one of the club members who was accused on this forum via unfounded rumours being started, hence no results were posted as we had meetings during office hours to sort it out which is still not completed. I still have to get last race days results from ray as he was away again. So as you can see it's a logistical nightmare at times managing the club, and over my dead body will I let what happened in uitenhage happen to our club, so be assured, all your comments, concerns, suggestions, gripes, feedback, etc are noticed and discussed for the betterment of the club. There are some developements happening behind the scenes which will come to the fore soon once they have been finalised which I'm sure will put alot of things at rest which will also make running the club a bit easier as well. All good things come to those who wait.
OTOTW - thanks, soon buddy soon.

Pity, it's a fun hobby, most fun I've ever had, and I've had a few.

Your comment regarding the trust of members is not good.
If the club includes more members to assist, we can take the pressure of Raymond and Dion.
If you guys are keen, I will ask Bevan to do this for the club. Sad

its not the trust of the members, we have a great club with great members.
its just once bitten twice shy, uitenhage is still fresh in our minds, and we wont let the same happen here.
slow and steady is working wonders, look what we have achieved already.
we are still in the building stages and there will be a few bumps along the way but already we have achieved in months what uitenhage couldn't do in years.

so i think just relax with the race results, try and find out at the end of race day, like i did.
im sure they will be posted asap

Maybe you should tell us new commers what happened in Uitenhage?

I agree that we have a great club. We are still new and things are getting better since we joined.

If we do not know, we can not help better the club. I know that some people are upset regarding the work been done at the track. Always the same old faces. This is always the case in any club. If we arrange work parties and give different people tasks to do then things do go better.

good point and thanks for always being available to help Eric and your team. Uitenhage is something a lot of us will want to forget. I would rather say that because of what happened in Uitenhage, we are running a tighter shift with a streamlined committee and a couple of strict rules that we aim to enforce. For this reason things can sometime take longer but it at least gets done and done properly.
We had a few aims in the beginning when we started and we have achieved most of it because of our willing members.
