Grenit Performance RC AudioTimer 3.0



Grenit Performance of Stockholm, Sweden have introduced the RC AudioTimer 3.0, for use with any type of RC car. The product is intended for training purposes and is a lap timer which not only stores the lap times for viewing on the computer, but also speaks the driven time through the user’s head-phones after each lap. The basic idea behind the RC AudioTimer is that whereas other lap timers provide similar functionality in recording lap times, none of them inform the user directly of their performance while they’re training. This means that it is very hard to adjust driving styles and car settings according to the lap times recorded by your device. What was lacking, in short, was an easy way to monitor lap times while the last lap and car adjustment was still fresh in your mind. The RC AudioTimer 3.0 provides that feedback, speaking lap times immediately through the attached headphones.


The RC AudioTimer 3.0 package basically consists of three elements: a Transponder, a Track Unit and a Driver Unit. The Transponder is mounted on the car on the side which will eventually face the Track Unit. The weight of the Transponder is negligible so as not to adversely affect the driving. The Track Unit gets placed anywhere along the track and the Driver Unit (with the headphones attached) is worn by the driver during the training. The Transponder relays a time signal to the Track Unit, which then relays it to the Driver Unit. The latter will then speak the last lap time in a clear voice.

The RC AudioTimer 3.0 comes with some very useful other functions, such as measuring the time elapsed since the last refuel/battery change, and the ability to transfer all of the lap times to the computer for permanent storage and further analysis.
