Re: sarda rules 2009
I was just looking at some of the new rules for next year and the news sis, lipo and brushless is in. All classes will be brushless except stock and to be honest I think the stock class is something they want to get rid of because of the motors and how some are managing to get horsepower out of them that is unexplained.
I missed 2 SARDA meeting recently due to other commitments so dont know what is going to be done wrt weight of cars etc.
Superstock will be a 17.5 brushless motor next year and I think you will be allowed to use brushed motors too. I will get more information soon and will keep you guys up to date as soon as I caught up with orders etc.
Please ask me questions if you want to know something specific.

Re: sarda rules 2009
You might as well give up racing if you don't have brushless then, brushed can't compete against these so called "equivalent" brushless motors, that's just wishfull thinking. This is going to stir things up drastically, what about at club level where the weekend racer can't afford a BL system???????/ I think it's short sighted decisions like these that chase people away. I already feel disadvantaged for next year's racing.

sport tuned
@ Ray- can we currently use sport tuned in ss and will we be allowed to next year at club level. We ran times 0.1sec slower than ss and this on a dirty track! Still costs next to nothing for motor and nothing to maintain. Probably wont be able to compete with brushless, but maybe consider a class within a class ie sport tuned class, to run with super stock but seperate points or something like that. We also wont be able to afford b/l and it would be sad if we couldnt find a class to run in. Like sam says, we feel discriminated against(at our local club in EL) due to not being able to afford brushless, which costs up to 4 times as much on start up, while we still have our good esc's that only work on brushed motors. Everyone has to be considered.

i also think starting a sport tuned class is a good idea, i dont think brushless is gonna be as quick as you guys think, i heard their "equivalent ratings" are a bit off.

Re: sarda rules 2009
its a 23turn
i never knew that.
* Number of turns = 23
* Usable Voltage = 6v - 8.4v
* Torque at best efficiency = 350g/cm (7.2v)
* RPM at best efficiency = 18,300rpm (7.2v)
* Current drain at best efficiency = 12A (7.2v)

Motor turns
@ototw - The turns refer to the amount of winds on each sector of the armature. That's how I understand it, Ray what do you say?

thats correct fusion. i didnt know you get an old and new sport tuned motor? all the ones I sold for the last 3 years were the same as far as I know. Could be wrong, infact I was never even able to get the specs. Thank Fusion.
