Here are some updates from the SARDA site.
Stan Hausman (ORE Chairman)
Having arrived @ the track today I was totally in awe of the facility. Absolutely world class! The surface is fantastic offering good grip. The curbs are good too and very visual helping us drivers who are a little visually challenged. The layout IS challenging and takes some getting used to. Welkom is the kind of track were slow is fast……keep it tight and you’ll have good lap times. The layout is waiting to punish the unwary but is also very rewarding to the smart driver.
Experiencing this facility is an honour and an absolute joy. One can see that Antonio is an experienced racer as every need of the racer has been catered for. Well done Antonio!
Rusty
@ Shiraz -- as U can see, the site is now dead quite, as the boys have arrived in town and have found out about the heat of the pace. I have only been updated about some some in mod, and its the usual fast guns as most the time. Gibson leads the pack at a pace of his own, followed by surprise, but maybe not such a surprise, track owner, Antonio. Neil and Wimpie arrived late and are likely to get quicker, but at the moment, Neil, Wimpie, Stan and Mikey are seperated by fractions. I can also tell U that when FP arrives he will come within very close target shooting of this pack. Anderton and Christian are also likely to join the pack, and lets not forget that Charles has been rocket fast since Trap, and little Henry is ALWAYS right in the mix. To make the mains here, U gonna have to be able to drive on your toes, as Deans might be a little off from the others right now, but he always comes back screaming. So, as U can see, their are 12 in a bunch of ten, and i am absolutely clueless of who can fall by the wayside. Don't forget, after these 12 their is still another 2 or 3 that will be setting these butts alight. (Deon, Gerika and Jason).
Hope this keeps U interested -- i don't know if i will be able to give another report before tomorrow night, but am going to try.
19T is likely to comprise very similar names, except excluding Stan as he doesn't race 19t.
Till later

Re: Welkom Nats - Updated
You guys have got it spot on. I don't know too much about trophies, they way down the order and squaded with the top guys in the country. It will be a mammoth task to bring home some shiny stuff, but good luck to them, I think they might have to dip into the "tabby" a little today to get some dutch courage for the frazzled nerves.lolol
Anyway, here's the latest from sarda site.

OK!!!! Shiraz, U owe me big!!!
MODIFIED
1second seperates first three --- Wisey,Gibson & Deans ---- Don't ask me to call it, as we had a couple of bookies come have a quick squiz and NOT ONE is willing to place any odds on this call :-))
Seriously, throughout the day they all had turns at being top nob (Gibson first, then Wisey and trusty old Deans climbed onto his toes and finished off the day like King Kong.
Szooo!!!!! its simply impossible to tell, and needless to say, all three are at their absolute max.
All top 5 runners went sub 18 seconds (Neil and Anderton (4th and 5th)), and Antonio was at 18.006secs (VERY FAST -- just gotta believe me).
Darren Manuel was the surprise party, and a very big congratulations are in order.
1/12 -- i saw very little -- results are: M Wisey, FP Aldrich, Wimpie, Neil and Albert Claassens.
19T -- It is Gibson, Antonio, Anderton, Dean and Young Blood (M Wisey) :-))
Your boy Travis, 4th in the B's (the pace was hot) (example: Antonio, Anderton and Dean -- seperated by 1 second)
SS -Gibson, Neil and Brand du Plessis (only 2 seconds between Gibson and Neil) willie Pienaar and Juan Wessels followed. Travis 6th!!!! From 5th to 10th 3 seconds
Until Monday!!!

I felt this thread wouldn't be complete without reminding ourselves of where they are laying down the rubber, lucky F@*$%r's.

I only hope that our track will look as good as this once done, awesome job by Antonio, well done to him.

Ja, they all did great, well done to them, that was probably the toughest nat of the year. Johan came 8th in A main open stock, an excellent result for his first nat. I wonder if they took any pics????
