DRCCC Race Report - Race Day 1 season 2 - Points Event
The start of the official points season was now upon us, with everybody getting a good feel of the new surface the previous race day and all the practicing inbetween, it was sure to be a bumper day. The weather a bit on the chilly side, but the sun stayed up high. There was a unanamous feeling that the staggered starts are the way to go, as this made for much cleaner racing and faster times for all.
There was a fantastic turnout as all wanted to prove their mettle on the new surface, which landed up with 44 racers entering a record whopping 57 cars. There were still plenty faces missing which I'm sure will still bolster the attendance a whole lot more. Nice showing guys, keep it up. So, with the track pre-sugared, thanks Ray, it was all systems go.

There were some very close results in the quallies, but some showed they can step up their game and were leaps ahead of the rest of the field. This has raised the bar quite considerably and those who want to contend for the trophies will have to put in some serious track time and take extra special care when setting up their cars.

Again some very close racing was seen throughout the various classes, one or two running away from the pack and posting some excellent results. Remember to check your consistency factor, this is the best way to measure your performance and progress as the season rolls on.
Besides everybodies teeth chattering, an excellent days racing was had by all, some need to go some homework, me being one of them, others just need to refine their already honed skills. I am sure the next race day will see an even tighter set of results as everybody gets used to the way their cars are behaving on the new surface, lets hope the weather plays along for us, summer is just around the corner and we will have balmy days again.

Re: DRCCC Race Report - Race Day 1 season 2 - Points Event
Thanks again Dion and well done to all making a raceday a success and obviously well done to the drivers.
The day started and I thought summer is here but at about 14:30 the weather got very nasty. Summer is around the corner and then we will think back and miss the cool days, definitely not last Sunday
What Sam is pointing out is the difference between your fastest lap and your average laptimes. THat gap you want as small as possible and will show good consistency. It helps to see your fastest lap too because that gives you an indication of what your car is capable of. The only way to get the gap smaller is to practice and have fun while doing it.

Yip, its called the "Bob Stormer Consistancy/Error Factor", if you can impliment it in your practice sessions and on race days, you can only go from strength to strength.
Go check it out here, http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-road/199909-hows-your-driving-stormer-error-correction-thread.html
This is the best reading you can get to improve upon what you are already doing on track. If you don't use this vital information you shouldn't be complaining about other guys being faster than you or of them cheating. Use it don't use it!!!!!

Nope, that was the printer having a Ray enforced moment.

I don't think he knows the answer to that, but he confessed so its with good authority that it wasn't the printers fault.

I hear the Bob Stormer theory, is that not half the problem here. If it was Bob Cheetah or Bob Shark, more people would believe in it
