DRCCC Race Report - Race Day 5 Season 1 - Points Event - Updated

Post  sam the man on Sun Mar 22, 2009 1:54 pm

This was set to be hummer of a day with the sun up high and the rostrum full. There was plenty of activity around which was due to 35 racers entering 44 cars and the fact that the last race day was cancelled, everybody was itchy for some racing action.

After a very good blow and some sweeping and a double dose of sugar, the day was set.

Qualifying finished up as follows:

TT01 Stock
A Main
1. George
2. Gareth
3. Marcel
4. Shamiel
5. Collin
6. Jacques
7. Edward
8. Vincent V
9. Nick

B Main
1. Kerry
2. Nicole
3. Tiaan
4. Bradley S
5. Denver
6. Justin
7. Warren
8. Kevin (welcome)

Club Stock
A Main
1. Christo
2. Hudson
3. Nicole
4. Barend
5. Hugo
6. Gareth

B Main
1. Bradley G
2. Thinus
3. Mark
4. Phillip
5. Vince C

19t/12t/13t Mods (New Class)
A Main
1. Stan
2. Robert vd B
3. Andy
4. Vince C
5. Steven
6. Dion

Super Stock
A Main
1. Christo
2. Andy
3. Robert vd B
4. Dion
5. Thinus

Open Mods
A Main
1. Raymond
2. Christo
3. Robert vd B
4. Carl
5. Ashley

There was some very tight racing in the qualies with the newbies keeping some of the ol'ballies in check. Also with the introduction of a reduced capacity cell rating in the tt class, it was very tight with position changes galore.

What a bumper filled day, with plenty of action all round and some pretty close racing down the order. Well done to those taking the podium places, those points were well earned. Thanks to all who assisted on the day with track prep and to all the volunteer marshals who helped out for the smaller heats, without you guys it wouldn't have been such a brilliant day for all.

CU next time.

thanks Sam, good report on a great day's racing. How about sticking the points standing on here as well? I don't even know if it is possible. People must just always remember the point throw away system where the difference can come in if you missed a few racedays or if you had a few bad ones.
Thanks again Sam and also like you rightly said a big thanks to the guys who are always prepared to help with prepping of the track.
I see it is getting quiet nest to the track so hopefully the municipality and Telkom will be leaving soon. The grass will be cut by the weekend and hopefully I will manage to get some cleaning up done before the weekend too.

They started from race day 2. We as a club follow the sarda rules as a guide, and one of their rules are that if there is a new ruling passed by the members, you must give 60 days notice to the members before it can be implimented, hence the season started with a 3700mah limit whose races counted for points. If you feel it's unfair, you may lodge a written protest with either myself or Ray along with a R200 protest fee. We will then investigate the matter in depth and make a ruling.

I hope this answers your question.

thats the one.. I think it was always clear to when the points races started. the first raceday was a practice run and to get rid of all computer problems etc. From then on in, every raceday's points counted. Some of the newbies might be uncertain and might even have lost out on points and for that reason we devide the season in 2 so that if you didn't make it first time in 2009, you will get another opportunity.
I think Ototw just wants to know where he stands wrt to the points at the end of the day.

Wasn't intended that way, just stating the facts.
